changing 15G turbo to 16T 850 T-5 97
changing 15G turbo to 16T 850 T-5 97
planning another mod on my T-5 replacing the stock 15g turbo for a 16T is it as simple as plug and play then getting the engine remapped or are other factors necessary like increased oil supply ? got an auxillary transmission cooler on order too.

now im not a seasoned volvo tuner but it would seem that an ecu remap wouldnt be necessary for just changing the turbo, i know that in dsms its not, but again, i dont have alot of time under to volvo hood yet.
soon to come, mbc; boost, afr and oil press. gauges

The 16T is not much different from the 15, you don't need any additional lines or anything.
In fact, I believe the S70 has the 16T turbo, and the engine is no different from your 97.

I have found that the 850 R was fitted with the 16T turbo too. Ideally I would like a good 18T the one I obtained had a bent shaft causing wear on the inside of the housings so thats scrap but a 16T would do for a small upgrade as I've taken the car as far as I want to go till I rebuild the engine.
