1996 850GLT 215K-driver side tranny back cover gasket leak

Post by Yuriy »

Finally found source of this leak - started wetting all around side cover gasket - or maybe correct name is " cover plate " - not sure.Question- can be this cover removed on a car? Under this cover plate is any " surprise " - which can be jumped away after cover is removed? VADIS did'n give any idea about this.
I am planned to do this fix on upcoming weekend.
Thinking to use hi-temp red silicone sealant .
Any suggestions, very welcome.
Thanks!

What a job - to remove this tranny cover on the car...:O( So, kids, newer try it at home...;O) Right now everything is clear - anaerobic gasket eliminator ( Loctite 518 ) is awaiting to be use. Only question: what torque i need for bolts - there is two different size of them. Can't see in VADIS this info...
