Temperature Gauge

I'm pretty new to this forum,
Just bought a 1998 v70 xc volvo with 114K miles.

seems like it has few problems but not too drastic.
Main question is how hot do these cars run ?
Here is a picture to show where the needle points. is this too high ? or normal.
