No AM radio reception Topic is solved

When I replaced the original radio/cassette player with an after market radio/CD/Sirius radio (actually two as first one was stolen), I lost AM reception. It was fine on the original radio. This is a 1994 940 wagon with the antenna in the rear drivers side window. Any ideas or clues to the problem? Local dealer has none.
