ABS, STC service light

Post by lasvet »

Hi guys,
I just bought Volvo S 60 2001 and 2 of the service lights are on- ABS and STC. I went to Volvo dealership for diagnostics and they told me I have to change the ABS module. Do you have any idea how serious is the problem and can I drive without ABS for a while( by the time I change the module). And if somebody can help me with the approximate price of the part( Part # V8619545) .
Thanx

Yes, you can drive the car without the ABS module, but you lose the speedo functions.

You can send your unit to be repaired and install back without any need for dealer software.

Hello, In brief: If you work on stuff you can deal with this. Do searches on "ABS repair" and you'll see what's involved most of the time. The bottom of the ABS is the controller. You remove E5 (that's External torx-head) bolts and pull it away. Look for bad solder joints if you can or just send it off for repair. Go here-----> "http://www.brickboard.com/AWD/volvo/142 ... p.html">70 flashing arrow /ABS Failure ? / PNP Failure?</a> Check out this recent thread on Brickboard. It has the repair guy's e-mail address. Kira
