Rack & pignon rebuilt kit

Hi,

I need a new rack & pignon. I try to figure out if I can rebuilt my rack myself ? Do I need special tools? How long to do the job?

Two types of steering gear were used on the 740 - cam gear type and ZF. The attachment shows the rebuild procedure for both. Special tools are needed and the shop time is 3.1hours. Bear in mind that is for an experienced mechanic with the proper equipment.
