I recently bought and replaced my S1 solenoid. The OBD2 code was P0750 shift solenoid "A" which translates to S1. I bought the solenoid from FCP groten. Flushed the transmission fluid with fresh synthetic and cleared the code. Drove like a champ for a week but this morning, I get the call from the wife saying "its doing the same thing", that cant be right, can it? Sure enough I pull the code and its P0750 again. Is there something else to look for? The fluid level is good, I reset the light and it hasn't come back yet (knock on wood) but only time will tell right? Maybe i changed the wrong solenoid? I changed the first one you see when you finally get that black cover off the transmission on top. The plug color was green and so was my new one. Everything fit perfectly also. What do you guys think?

I have to replace S2 myself on my '96 850 due to intermittent failure, and I can't imagine anything more frustrating than finding out I replaced the wrong one. I will definately check the pin 22 resistance when I unplug the old and after plugging in the new.
The S1 wire is supposed to be green/white so you probably got the correct one. The troubleshooting guide suggests that a wiring problem (short or loose connection) could also cause the trouble code. You may want to retest the solenoid resistance at the transmission wiring connector.
