looking for experience updating nav maps

Post by Drivetime »

Hi all -- newbie here and couldn't find anything in other threads to answer my question. Recently purchsed my first Volvo -- '07 S60. Former owner said he'd gotten info about updating the maps. I'm not a technical person -- has anyone done this and if so what was your experience? The website he sent me was navteq, http://www.updateyourmap.com and the upgrade is $200. I asked a neighbor about this who said I could get a Garmin cheaper, but since I paid for the car with nav system built in I really want to use that feature. Thanks for your help.

I don't know about 07s, but my 04 gets its maps from DVDs. While I haven't done it, I suspect that adding other regions or updating the current region is a matter of getting additional DVDs, then popping them in the car's navi DVD.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
