I have just purchased a US version 2001 S60 T5 (replacing my '96 965) and I cannot get the cruise control to work.
The owner's manual just says to push the steering-wheel mounted "Cruise" switch, then the + or - button to set the desired speed, but when I do this absolutely noting happens, and no message appears anywhere on the instrument panel that says "Cruise" or anything related. The manual does not say if there is a confirmation on the panel, though one would make sense.
Not sure if there is a fuse somewhere that controls this (none listed in my manual or on the fuse listings in the fuse boxes I could find).
IS there supposed to be a text that appears on the panel indicating the cruise is switched on , or armed?
The P.O. lived in the city and said he never even tried it (He's my nephew, so I don't think he is fibbing).
Can anyone tell me what I am supposed to "see" or where the common failure points are w/ the Cruise Control?
Thanks,
Bob
