a/c problem
a/c problem
We have had great luck with our 2001 XC 70 but we now had our first problem in 80000 miles. After driving for 30 minutes at highway speeds with the a/c on, the air suddenly stops coming out of the vents. You can hear it blowing but it feels like someone has shut the all the vents. While checking out the other settings, I hit the a/c off button and things started blowing again. After 2 minutes, I hit the a/c on button and things were fine for another 30 minutes. This now happens no matter how warm it is out. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

I have the same issue with my 01 v70-T5 with 141k on it. Runs for about 30 minutes A/C no longer works, then after 10-15 minutes off...it works again like it should. I've been told its a over heating compressor, but I was curious if that is the case since a compressor is about $1000.
Thats an interesting point because my guy has checked the sensors by the compressor and they were fine but he didn't check the compressor itself. I stopped by his shop this afternoon but his wife went into labor so it will have to wait a few days. Another question about the a/c, before this started happening, my wife was driving and this happened, she was near a dealer when they looked under the hood, the compresser and lines were frozen solid! Could this tie into anything?
