96 Volvo V40 - 2.0 Petrol Manual - Cheap Parts/Spares/Repair

Post by Frogger-V40 »

All parts from my V40 are up for grabs, or if anyone fancies fixing it up and putting an MOT on it, it's for sale as a whole.

I'm happy to break for pretty much any part if anyone's after anything.

The full details, and pic's, can be seen here on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0490635215.

Whilst I haven't been on this forum long you can see my feedback on eBay (trading since ebay UK first opened in 1999, and 100% feedback).

Copied from my auction write-up...

ABOUT THE CAR....

Been off the road for about 1 month, due to Tax and MOT having just expired.

Good Points

* Engine starts and the car drives.
* Has had the full front brake upgrade which is rare to find on these earlier V40's
(larger discs and pads which prevents the brake fade encountered on other S40's and V40's)
* Recently had new track rod ends (in prep for MOT)
* New Toyo T1R front tyres on the original Volvo alloys.
* Fantastic at moving furniture!

Now the Bad Points...

Throughout my ownership of the car, despite the engine running and pulling well, it can occasionally run rough on idle. Also the fuel pump always continues to prime when turning the key (may explain the idleing if overfuelling?). Never found out if this is a sensor or the fuel pump. In addition, the previous owner seems to have bypassed the electronic headlight adjusters.

And strangely since moving the car onto my drive...

* One of the new tyres has somehow developed a slow puncture! Hopefully repairable.
* I broke the key! It still works but needs holding together.
* Car battery went flat and refuses to recharge

(All in all the car seemed to protest strongly at being SORN!)

I think it would need a bit of TLC before passing an MOT (in my opinion).
As such i'm intending to break it for parts, then scrap it, as I don't have the time to repair it.
However if someone wants to fix it I'm happy to sell it as a whole, and I'm not looking for a fortune!

The car is located in Hereford and parts will only be available for the next couple of weeks!!!

Thanks.
