FYI, I found an absorbed glass mat battery for my 2001 Volvo V70 in the Baltimore area.
Battery model no. 9AGM48 (Group 48 battery, AGM (absorbed glass mat) technology).
$162.66 + tax from the warehouse of the East Penn Manufacturing Co., 3801 Curtis Ave., Baltimore, MD.
Marketed under the name of Deka Battery.
Also, in Northern Virginia, the battery can be ordered by G and C Battery (http://www.gandcbattery.com) in Lorton, Va, (703) 550-2229. The person at G and C Battery was very helpful.
The battery was a perfect replacement for the OEM Volvo battery in my 2001 Volvo V70. I expect the battery will also be correct for my 2005 Volvo S60 when the time comes.
