Hello everyone, I'm new to this board, and I have a bit of a problem.
The climate control system on my wife's 2003 V70 seems to be having an intermitten issue. It first started in November, and seems to primarily happen on longer journeys.
In November, we were driving from SC to PA for Thanksgiving and the heat was on. It eventually seemed to be getting very cold in the car, even though we had the heat cranked. We then noticed that even though we could hear the fan going full bore, we could not feel any air coming out. We stopped and I poked around under the hood and looked under the dash where I could see, and I didn't see anything obstructing the filter, etc... We restarted and it seemed to come back.
It pretty much didn't happen again, until June, when we drove from SC to PA to move up. We had a packed car with a newborn and 3 dogs and it was 100+ out, and this time it happened with the AC. We had to stop many times due to the newborn, so it kept coming back for a while.
Now it did it on a trip to Philly this past weekend. Seems to happen if the car is on for an hour or more. Then when we stopped, after about 20 minutes, I noticed a huge puddle under the car, and I could see water dumping off of an area just under where the dash is. Could it be that the condenser is freezing up or something along those lines? Any known issues with this? It's not like it's not blowing cold air, we can feel a bit of cold air leaking out. It just seems to not blow it. I almost thought that it was having trouble swapping between the three settings for where the air comes out, but it doesn't seem to be coming out of any of them.
Any suggestions?
