Just bought a 850

Post by axeman »

Hey all,

I just bought a 1994 850 today (non-turbo) for my gf. I used to have a couple 740 wagon a while ago and loved it. It's my first front wheel drive Volvo though, so I hope I won't be disappointed. The car is in excellent shape and only has 81k miles, so I think there's plenty of life left. Now I have a few questions:

1. Timing belt wasn't done at 60k, what's the recommended on these cars?

2. Does anyone know a good independant Volvo mechanic in the Phoenix/Tempe area by chance?

3. Anything I should know about these cars, like specific maintenance issues, etc?

Thanks for any help!

Timing belt should be done every 70k miles on the 94-97 model 850's. Good luck with the car ;)
