1999 V70XC rear cam seal leaking

Post by iselloil »

I've got a 99V70 XC with the rear cam seal is leaking. I dont have cam sensor where most would leak. From what I can tell the cam needs to be removed.Anyone got a link or instructions on doing this? Thanks.

Rear as in the one hiding behind the turbo pipe/cam sensor? The sensor is the only thing that needs to be removed.

Hmm...another strange difference in the 99's, huh? I no longer have my computer with VADIS with me at work, but I can take a look for you when I get home.

Its just a blank cover, and no way to remove it from what I can tell. My other 99 has a 2000 setup from the factory.I went to change the 02 sensor and the 99 will not work.Different plug.Called Bosch, and they said that late in 99 production they swithched some models into the 2000 setup.

They are rare in North America but you may have a Fenix ECU system.

So any idea on the fix? Whats different on this motor or vehicle all together? I know on the trim package, I've never seen one like this.

This is what VADIS has to say about it (look at the lower part of the file for the rear one).
