Also, in your email account (not MVS account), find and enable "always allow" emails from [email protected]. Often this is called "whitelisting".

This forum sends email from that address. That'll change one day in the medium-future to something more professional sounding.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

I have an old non-working email address in my profile / account settings, and I have been trying for a couple of days to change it, and the site responds as follows:
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

MySQL server has gone away [2006]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.

What am I doing wrong?

Absolutely nothing - that is just the server freaking out from being overloaded. Try again and you should be able to get it to go through.

Just tried again with the same result. This makes about ten tries at different days and times over the past week. It stalls, sends the error message, then I get an email calling for me to reactivate, and when I go back to control panel/ edit my account settings, I still see my old email address in the first line, my user name in the confirm email address, and a row of dots in my password line.
Seems like a bug to me....

Hmm...interesting - sounds like you've found a bug. Shoot me an email with what you want your email address changed to and I'll see if I can get it done for you.
