'95 850Turbo engine cooling fan

Post by ccb222 »

I've read posts re: the engine cooling fan since mine isn't working and it seems like trouble shooting it should start at the fusible link to check the fuse. Does anyone know where it is? I realize it's in the red, always hot wire that goes into the cooling fan relay and I'm trying to avoid following this wire til I find the fuse. All help appreciated. Thanks, Charles (ccb222)

I don't have an answer but would be interested in hearing one too. I seem to have caught a lucky break with a couple of my codes appearing to be solved by reconnecting a couple of vacuum hoses I found loose, but now I have this A2 514 code that I'm not really sure where to begin solving...

(514 Engine cooling fan low speed signal)

The temp never seems to go beyond half way on the gauge, but the fan never seems to come on.

The fuze on my '97 855 is right in-between the relay and the fan itself, but it's a black wire.

As for the fan never coming on, it should only spin if it gets too hot or if the A/C is on. If you do a lot of highway driving, it may not kick on because the airflow is cooling the fluid properly. If it's city driving in the summer, it should kick on but it's fairly quiet and you might not even hear it on the road. If your temp needle stays at the 3:00 position, you shouldn't have to worry about anything.
