Replacement Key for S70

Hi again,

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction?

When I purchased my Volvo S70 2000 model, it only had ONE KEY! Needless to say, I am always worried about accidentally locking it inside or losing it etc. It is a regular key - not a remote.

I would like to purchase a remote and also another regular key. They are sooo expensive! Does anyone know of anywhere/anyone I can buy from that isn't so expensive? I see some on ebay but before I buy I wondered if anyone had other recommendations?

Unfortunately they're both laser cut, AND contain a chip that needs to be programmed to the car on a 2000 model. You could get a blank on Ebay, but it's still going to have to be programmed.

You can also buy working remotes off Ebay (I need another one myself), but it still means a trip to the dealer to have them programmed.

Yup, though not all dealers can cut the key by code, some can only make a copy (if the key is worn, you really don't want a copy made). I found a dealer that could order a key by VIN, they sent me the cut key, and I took car and key down to my dealer and had them program it.
