PCV valve replacement problem on 93 850

Post by Paul93-850 »

Could someone point me to a link on replacing the pcv valve on a 93 850?

My repair garage, who I respect greatly, recommended that I not replace it b/c the bolts holding in in wouldn't budge. They believed that cranking them out would only break them. that would then cost me a ton to drill them out, retap if needed, etc. I'm guessing now that this is the reason the dealer quoted me $600 cdn to replace it. I initially thought this was crazy.

Am I stuck with what's in there forever or is there some way to convince those bolts to come on out in one piece?

My gas mileage has been gradually going down and I've always found this an easy fix and good return on investment on my previous non-volvo cars.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

thanks,

P.
