S80: Ever replaced the Brake Control Module? (BCM)

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

S80: Ever replaced the Brake Control Module? (BCM)

Post by matthew1 »

My dad's '99 S80 was diagnosed with a bad BCM at a dealer. He's called around and found a used one for $300. Erie (one of my sponsors, top of the pages ad) doesn't have any used BCMs, according to their page.

Volvo Specialists and other used parts sources here in Denver seem to be out of this used part. Dealer of course wants something like $725 for the part, a hundred or two more for labor.
  • Question: anyone know of a better price than $300?
  • Question: anyone ever fix one? Is it like an ABS module where a good soldering can repair it? I have an email in to Victor Rocha, ABS module repair guy.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
