S60 Power Seat Problems
The driver's side power seat is stuck in the raised position. It won't go down. It will go back and forth. How do I troubleshoot?
This just happened to me about 6 months ago in my '02 S60. After testing the boards and connections as well as the power to the board, I took it in to the dealer.
The dealer was stumped and said that they didn't know what was wrong with it but they had another tech that saw the same problem a while back. Turns out, it was a software update that needed to be done. I guess they flashed it and set it back to original but everything works great now (5 months). Reset all the memory settings and no issues.
I think I paid about $120-$150 for the diagnosis, hook-up and update. Small price to pay to have your seat adjustable!

For right now you could try a reset
Disconnect the battery for 30 minutes, reconnect (always connect the negative terminal first)
You may be lucky and reset the system, at least long enough to put the seat back down and LEAVE IT THERE until the actual problem is found!
