throttle body and vent box

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

throttle body and vent box

Post by april »

Our mechanic told us that our throttle body and vent box are clogged and the repair would be around $700. I don't have the money and would like to do it myself. I have seen a posting or two which make the clean up look pretty simple . . . but I don't even know where to find the throttle body or vent box.

Ordinarily I would refer to a Chilton's/Haynes manual . . . but I can't seem to find one. AutoZone, Advance Auto, Auto Value, Walmart, and Barnes and Noble were all unsuccessful in producing one. Perplexing.

Can anyone post pictures of them and/or pictures ... Possibly description of how to get to it?

Its fairly easy, but is time consuming. Checkout the post under this one called "turbo oil leak" or something to that effect, I've posted a little info under there about the box. Its all underneath the inlet manifold.
