Cluster Info - gas mileage, temperature, etc

I have a 98 v70 and the information that used to be digitally displayed on the cluster is not working. The cluster only shows the temperature. Could the switch/cable been disconnected from behind the cluster? Has anyone else had trouble with this?

Trip computers have been known to go out. I've seen it happen a few times. Not the most common problem in the world, but it does happen.
