2001 V70 - a couple issues

Post by jeromos »

seems like I'm having the same problem or similar . My car stalls when I stop at lights or I put it in park or the rpm start jumping up and down between 500-1000 I also can't fill up at the pump because is always cuts off and the gasoline comes back with a big pressure and running down on the side of the car. I also got a yellow label on my etm which means not original I don't know how the recall applies to it. And yes just recently I found a leak under the car @ the timing belt !Any help I would appreciate!

You have to describe your leak better. What color is it. My suggestion- start a new thread so as the attention is not off of the original poster's. I too am looking for breather box and PCV info for my '04 V70. Just did timing belt and need to clean the throttle- now at 101K miles- Need to do the PCV system too....and it's different from earlier models. So, that's a topic for another thread- Back to the original topic here, guys!

I split your post off into a new topic.

You definitely have something wrong with the EVAP canister/system causing your fill-up issues - it sounds like your rollover valve is stuck.

Try cleaning the throttle body to take care of the idle fluctuation issue. Just because it has been replaced doesn't mean it's going to be free of problems - it's a bad design.

The PCV needs to be cleaned, as MIJ stated. Yours will not be terribly different than the write-up for my car in the 850 section, but there will be some differences you'll discover as you go along - I have an older engine design. If your oil leak subsides after that, you've done it good, but you may have blown the cam seal under the timing belt.

Was your timing belt changed at 105K miles? IF NOT YOU'RE OVERDUE AND NEED TO CHANGE IT ASAP!

Wish I know about the timing belt but i pretty sure it wasn't replaced since I've got the car @75K
I will do it soon with the drive axle , control arm and now looks like the cam seal . Oh yes almost forgot motor mount

i fixed 1 issue ! I can fill up my gas tank . It was the carbon filter container! Many people had the same problem but they were lucky enough just to have a little spider nest in the vent pipe. I'm not that lucky!
