S80 Passenger door mirror unit replacement - help!

Can anyone advise how to replace the passenger side mirror assembly on a 2000 S80? I've tried once, but I was unable to release the collar connecting to the lower fixed assembly. It looks like 3 bolts are required to perform this proceedure in order to release tension on the spring assembly, but I cannot find any with the correct thread from local machine shops.
