Whining noise (like an air horn) coming from car... Topic is solved

Has anyone experienced a whining noise, almost like a faint airhorn, coming from the front right area of the car while it is in motion? I just started hearing this whine the other day and it's kind of annoying. I also noticed that the noise went away when the car comes to a complete stop.

hey there ive just started to here a whinning noise, comming from the front right of my 93 850 gle, last week. so annoying. yesterday i took off the wheel and looked everywhere, pulled the cv gaiter off to have a look all ok. rotated the wheels, im stumped on it to. sound like its a kind of bearing or somethnig? comes right from the right hand wheel intermittantly as well, when you turn. keep me informed, im almost to the point of going to a suspension and steering specialist, but would like to save a few dollars if possible.

ive found out what my problem is and maybe yours, when you turn to the right it gets louder, or starts. if you turn to the left it gets softer or dissappears. and when you stop or slow down it stops. i found it to be the wheel bearing. the problem with volvo is its not a single item to replace its the whole hub that has to be replaced because its a sealed unit. expensive. keep me informed as to what yours is.
