Horn relocation

Post by Jaxx »

850 T5 -

I've seen people re-locate their horns, but does it help?

and if it is substantial, where can I put them?

should I dremel that bar out of the way too?

thanks a lot, pictures would be nice too!

I've done it. It might help a bit with flow to the IC, but nothing super substantial. Don't dremel the bar though. Not worth it at all. It will compromise the integrity of the header panel quite a bit, meaning that much more damage would be done if the car should ever be involved in a collission. You can move the horns down near the driver's side of the plastic air guide near the front of the car. There should be places to bolt the horns in there.

will the harness reach? I am also thinking about putting an tranny cooler on my T5, any one on these boards done it? I've seen one tutorial with pictures, and you need to relocate a horn, seems like it would also block the airbox's intake...

I'll post another thread if I have to. :)

thx

Yes, the harnessing will reach. I have a transmission cooler that I will be installing over the next couple weeks hopefully. I will send you pics of the install if you'd like.
