There's lots of these topics out there, but lots of people will chime in on this one.
There's also the argument of what kind of gas you use and whether it returns better gas mileage or not.
On a trip of 550 miles of solid interstate driving this weekend, I got about 24.5 mpg each way on 89 octane in my S70 T5. Not great, but I was doing between 75-80 on the way home, and then ~72 mph on the way back (mostly uphill after the first hour). I usually get around 28 hwy in the summertime, usually 93 octane in the warmer months.
Back and forth to work (a 30-mile combination of city and hilly 45-55 mph driving) I average about 21 mpg.

Gloria - our 89 740 GL Wagon gets about 18/22 MPG
That is on 91 octane at 180K - I do however drive in a lot of rush hour and have yet to change out the plugs/wires and do a carbon flush.
We will see if it gets any better, but for a 20+ year old wagon that size...not too shabby.

V70 T5: Average 20-21 typical work week. 26-27 on highway road trips
S80 T6: Average 20-21 typical work week. As much as 29 on the highway, but usually around 26-27
These figures are calculated, ie not from the OBC. Typically I run "premium" fuel. I like to boost it

....Just been reading about multiple-ground electrode plugs, and I reckon i've been mis-sold em because they can't be gapped, and they're twice what they wanna be (0.053")

21mpg on a 1994 NA 850 5spd in just about the worst conditions possible (90% driving around town, short trips, mostly cold starts, etc). 24.5mpg on the tank where I actually drove 100 out of 300 total miles on the highway, so I'm sure my car is capable of 25-30 on highway driving.
