new valves, no start
new valves, no start
Long story short: Replaced all the intake valves. Cam/crank marks lined up great when putting back together. Rotated engine by hand and all was well so I buttoned it back up. Cranks but will not start. Another mechanic I know thinks its the cam followers that are dry, thus not opening the valves enough to build compression. I did have the head off for several weeks before re-installing and did not keep the cam followers soaked in oil. Would that completely keep the engine from starting? How much/long would I need to crank it before followers pump back up? Just seems to me I'd get some fire after cranking for ten minutes or so. Any input welcome, thanks!
Our first 240 saved us twice we are a living testament to Volvo safety. The S80 T6 is "just because I could" and it's a fun drive!

Pull coils and spark plugs and fuse for fuel pump. Crank it over for one minute or longer as the engine will go much faster and with no stress on starter and be able to get tappets filled. Did intake valve seats get ground?
My curiosity is how did you set up cams? Were gears removed from cams? If so the timing was lost and the marks can be aligned but it is not in time
