S40 turbo & oil pressure

Question. Has anyone seen a connection between loss of oil pressure and bearing failure on a turbo? My oil light came on around the same time as the shaft on my turbo became loose, which resulted in the bearing failing and oil blowing into the turbo. I'm guessing this caused the drop in oil pressure. I also have some concern regarding this drop in oil pressure and any additional engine wear.
