Gas fumes and possible vacume issue

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Gas fumes and possible vacume issue

Post by chall37128 »

purchased an 03 S80 T6 a few months ago. Love car but there is an enging warning light that we can correct that I think is vacume related as when you first start on cold days it runns higher idle speed

I recently have also had the experience that when tank is really full and parked in garage a strong odor of gas. Never any gas on the floor and we don't seem to be using any more gas when drving. Any way this could be related to that vacume/engine warning light?

Signed, clueless in Tennessee, with an unhappy wife to boot

Wrong forum.
You may be very lucky.
There is a fuel leakage recall on S80 2001-2005 and it is restricted to warm weather states and TN is one of those.
Get it to dealer and have that checked.
Any place that can allow fumes to escape but not have liquid is likely something that the fuel tank leakage detection system will flag a code for.
