Hi,
Would anyone be able to tell me if a Brake Booster from an '04 s80 w/DSTC, 2.5 T, fit my car and would it work either way. I have a '99 s80 n/a w/stc only. Would I be able to install DSTC? Or did I make the amateur bad move???? I have a feeling I will be selling this part so if anyone is interested let me know, please.

The part number for the DSTC equipped booster is 8649492 and goes right through from '99 to '05. Unfortunately, without DSTC the '99 part number is 8649491. As far as I know they aren't interchangeable. As for fitting DSTC I wouldn't even consider it as the cost of parts and labour would probably be more than the value of the car.
I think it is a case of bite the bullet, sell the booster you have and find the correct one. If you are looking for used parts that one is also fitted to the S60, C70, S70 and V70 up to '01 without DSTC.

Thank you for the feedback ,Bill. I never confirmed the lack of DSTC physically till after the fact....very amateur indeed. I believe you are most likely right. If anybody has any further input..feel free to chime in...I can take a little abuse for this one.
