99 S70 INSTALLATION OF SERPENTINE BELT HELP PLEASE....

hi yall...I need some help with replacing the SERPENTINE BELT for my car 99 s70 non-turbo 2.5l. Can someone please provide any links to sites that stock the part or the part # so I can purchase it. Also, is there a step by step I can print out anywhere on this site? Please, any info will be appreciated...I just want to do it right and not have to spend too much already on labor and dealer price!

Warning: Volvo recommends a different routing than OEM. Belt lengths have adjusted accordingly. This tutorial supplies many handy knowledge nuggets, but does not reflect the new routing/new size.

Part # for cars with A/C is 9458376. For cars without A/C, the part # is 9458469. Check FCPGroton.com. They have the BEST service/quickest shipping around and 9 times out of 10, they have the lowest price too. With eeuroparts they offer free ground shipping with orders over $39 . Here in New England I get parts in 24 hours most of the time

Thank you all for the posts. iI'll check out the links posted as soon as Iam finished with this post. Though, I want to make sure I understand you correct...don't all the 99's (S70) have a/c? Please clarify this for me. I called my local auto zone before this posting and they quoted me about 20bucks for the belt but I was'nt sure if the guy knew what I was asking for (I guess it goes by other names too)even though he did ask me..."WITH A/C" and my response was ofcourse yes!

Here's the routing diagram post, by Tina, that contains the URL of the diagram PDF (Volvospeed). Alas, it is for 850s. Usually 850s and 70s (up to 2000) are the same, but I can't be certain, so take this with a grain of salt.

What I'd do faced with these choices is call a trusted parts shop (including my sponsor -- banner ad above*) and tell them what you need to do. Listen to what they say. If they sound like they don't know what they're talking about, move on.

* never bought a single part from them, but I've spoken to Tim many times, and he's a straight shooter. They're the parts dept. of a Volvo dealer.

It appears that they are giving you the choice of going with an aftermarket part (CRP) or the OEM Volvo part. Believe me, as far as replacement parts go, nothing is better quality than the OEM Volvo parts. I've dealt w/ some aftermarket parts before and I have NEVER had good luck with them. They never fit as well and wear out especially fast. It's not worth it to be stranded on the road b/c the serpentine belt breaks.

Isn't Continental the maker of the Volvo belt? Just buy one locally. It doesn't matter if the brand is Volvo, Continental, Gates, etc.

Thanks, I did the install today. Used a wrench and hanger...yes it works for me. I just had to work my way throuhg it all and I was pleased with the outcome so far. I used original routing for the belt after drawing the config my self, and using an external lamp for more lighting. Its dark in there and tight too. As for the part, I bought the belt from fcp groton llc...good service good price 36bucks. Thanks to all who posted on this thread.
