Hello from a newb
G'day! I recently had the pleasure of becoming the owner of a 1995 850 SE. Since then I have found many sources of information about the vehicle on the web but nothing as good as this site. I have now taken the step of registering with the intent of joining the community of Volvo afficionados. I live in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney in Australia and here in Oz there are some stigmas that apply to Volvo owners/drivers - none of them positive
. For me it is rather ironic as I am a motorcyclist and Volvos are considered to be the #1 enemy to bikes! I intend to get the sticker that says "Volvo aware rider" and put it on the car!! Looking forward to learning lots and hopefully in time being able to contribute as well.

Gday Gary, welcome to MVS. As I'm a fellow '95 SE owner from Melbourne we share some things in common.
The other day I tried to tell a Volvo owner he had a 10 valve engine (also a 95 SE owner) and he refused to swallow it.
Is yours a B5252S?? (this is stamped on the timing cover)
These motors have some peculiarities over the more common 20 valvers like no MAF, different rear cam seals & inlet manifold and a Siemens ECU for engine functions. Otherwise pure Volvo genius!!

First time I've heard that between bikes and volvos.
Do you know any history of that statment?

If it makes you feel any better, I used to be a Volvo and Bike owner for many years. Check out my avatar on my personal account.aahmes57 wrote:"For me it is rather ironic as I am a motorcyclist and Volvos are considered to be the #1 enemy to bikes!"
