v70 Keys
v70 Keys
I've had the v70 2001 for a month, when I got it it came with 4 keys, 3 are the same and deal with door, ignition, and glove box. The other doesn't seem to fit anything. It is of similar size, but the blade is very slightly wider, and has 3 indentations on each side. The black plastic bit on the end is smaller than the others keys. Has anyone any thoughts on what this key is for?

It should be the "valet" key. It should fit the ignition switch and the driver's door but nothing else. The idea is to have a key you give parking valet that won't let them in glove box or the load floor storage area. Does it fit the ignition?

Probably an extra key that's not for this car

Yep, some other key for some other car. Valet key has smaller head on some grey instead of black on others.
Valet key has a offset V groove in center on both sides of key and the main keys have a square groove on both sides. The secured locks have a square tab in the cylinder that the V groove won't pass by.

This key has 2 channels on each side of the blade, both offset from the centre. The blade is 9mm wide against 8mm on the standard key. The length of the blade is 39mm against 35mm for the standard key. There are no marks / names printed on the key. Maybe that helps.
