go to the reply and look at the top of the test window. 3rd item left of the MVS Contributor logo in your case.

I'm sorry but I must be blind or something. I only see two items to the left of MVS Contributor i.e. a little window with a open quotation mark and word 'QUOTE' inside the window and to the left of that an 'up side down' triangle with an '!' mark inside it. I don't see any 'Edit' button. Am I looking in the correct area or ???
Thks for your patience...

You have to be logged into the site first; then it should show up here.

Thanks. I thought I was logged in but I logged out and logged in again and now all is well.

Edit: Spoke too soon. I went to look at the reply which I wanted to Edit (https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... 29#p177302) and the Edit button does not appear for that reply.
Whatever, not to worry just curious why this is happening.

You managed to edit this one so it can be done. The Edit button came up on the other post when I tried it. Give it another shot. Matthew doesn't charge extra for more that one try. :D

Tried lots of different things. Can edit this one but not the other about a New Wheel. Tried clearing my cache. Tried a reboot. Tried in Internet Explorer as well as Firefox. One of the mysteries of the Universe I guess

Sorry, I wish I'd gotten to this topic earlier. I could have saved you lots of toil.

Reason: Edits are limited to the first four hours of a post's life. Deletion the first two hours.

After those respective time windows, the buttons disappear. Moderators' buttons don't have this window, naturally.

I used to have those values up to several days or even a week, I can't remember now, but then there was an instance of a user making a good post about upgrading his S60, and then me putting it into the Repair Database. So far so good, but can you see ahead?

After a couple days -- for whatever reason, I have no guesses even -- the user edited his post to essentially nothing. A single character is the minimum, and I think he left a dot -- ".".

So let me bump that edit window back up a little... I'll make it two days. I'll keep the deletion window unchanged. Collective punishment is a bad policy. :-)

Moving forward, if you need a post edited outside the new two day window, just let me or one of the moderators know and we'll edit to taste.
