2002 S60 front dashboard vent assy removal help

Post by iwritecopy »

I need to remove the air vent assy that houses the hazard button (directly above the radio). I see there are 4 plastic clips/snaps on the bottom of the vent assy under the bottom horizontal air deflectors - when I pry these up and try to pull the assy out, the vent assy still doesn't release, and I know better than to force it. Any suggestions are most appreciated and welcomed! Thanks guys!!

I am pretty sure that you need to remove each vent itself and then there are screws that hold the plate in behind the vents.

Thanks for your quick reply...went back to the dashboard vent with a flashlight and found four more of those plastic clips/snaps on top of the vent assy - the tricky part for me then is how to release the four on top, pry the vent out slightly, then release the four on the bottom...kind of like certain stereos where you need to insert those metal tools on each side to release the clasps so you can remove the stereo...also, there is little room between the plastic clips and the horizontal deflectors...have to be careful not to break those while releasing the clips...
