S40 Status LED on Dash Not Functioning!

I recently purchased a 2000 S40 with an aftermarket remote start. Without knowing I used the Factory keyless remote and since then the LED status light for the security system no longer turns on and neither does the alarm. I locked the doors with the window open, reached inside and opened the door with no siren.
I hope someone may be familiar with this problem.
