Transmission Leak

Post by shookone »

I took my car for an oil change and my mechanic says that I have a transmission leak. Need to replace both axle seals and a right axle. Now my transmission has been slipping from rev to drive and in third gear, only after the car is warm. The fluid level seems high and the color isnt bad. I have read posts about doing a flush which i bought the kit yesterday. My question is should i get the axle seals fixed before i do the flush? Seems pointless to flush if it leaks.

Yes.

Make sure you only use 3309 fluid in this car.

If the fluid level is too high, it can do just as much damage as having it too low. At the same time, call a dealer with your VIN number and ask if the 2001 transmission software update has been done on this car.
