Drivers side lowbeam headlight assembly

Can anyone tell me what the name of the part is that you insert the bulb into? I was replacing mine last night with the plastic part just crumbled in my hand. There's nothing left but the 2 prongs to insert the bulb into. But, I'm hesitant to do that with. Otherwise, it's 2 wires hanging there if I put the bulb in.

You should be fine just putting the connectors onto the bulbs spade terminals.
