S40 Nearside doors will not unlock

Post by Extaf »

Hi folks I wonder if you can help.
Neither of the nearside doors on my 2005 S40 1.8SE will unlock. The remote works the offside and boot lid OK but nothing seems to work for the N/S.

The locks wewe a bit iffy a few weeks ago but them worked OK. I sprayed WD40 inside the connection blocks by the door hindges and they seemed Ok but have now gone sick again.
How can I get my doors open?

You may have identified the trouble. The connector where front door attaches to body can have poor fit of pins. You may have to inspect and see if you can close down the female terminals for better connection. The front door module runs the back door lock so a problem there kills both doors on that side.

Thanks Jimmy but I can't examine the connectors unless I can first get the doors open. This is what is puzzling me. I can't fix it till I get them open but I can't get them open without fixing it.

You must have deadbolt locking feature in those lock assemblies. I have no suggestions on that one.
