s40t se Boost increase

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

s40t se Boost increase

Post by sohara »

Hi

I was just wondering if it is possible to increase the boost on a 1999 S40T SE, by using a TURBOSMART BOOST CONTROL GBCV BOOST TEE CONTROLLER or similar boost controller. I was hoping to raise the boost a few psi. What is the standard boost that it runs and what is the most i could increase it safely by with out having to change any internals. Do i have to use a boost controller or can the computer by reprogrammed.

I know the computer controls the boost but not sure if i can get any more boost out of the car.

Could someone please give me some advice.

You may want to check out google, wastegate (Volvo) IPD you-tube and watch the video Turbo 102. This will explain how to adjust your wastegate, but there are more components to increase power, air, fuel, ignition, and proper maintenance to include vacuuum hoses and hoses to your Turbo Control Valve (TCV). Also go to the ad above on IPD and look at the stage zero. That will be a good start.
