XC90 Master Window Switch

Post by dad2twins »

Does anyone know if a used Master window switch will work? Dealer said it would not. Not sure if he is just trying to sell me a $400 part or not. Would cleaning the contacts be a solution as well?

Thanks for any advice.

your door switch is called a drivers door module and is married to the car a new switch needs to be used as well as a software download to turn it on

What is your problem? Maybe someone here has something that would help but the problem needs to be described.

well ,it worked like new for about a month. I guess I need to clean it better this time. One would think if it's a bad DDM ,it would stay bad. Any thoughts or should I just get a new one?

Thanks

My windows will not stay up unless you hold the switch in the up position for a second or two after the window reaches the top (closed) position. Can't just push the up activation and expect it to stay up, it goes to the top and starts back down unless you hold the switch. Any ideas?

1. Engage the auto-down function and remove fuse 11C/5 (for driver's side) or 11C/4 (for passenger side) (located in the driver's side dash fusebox) during window movement.

2. Install fuse back into position.

3. Engage the auto-up function and hold it engaged for 5 seconds after the window has reached the fully closed position.

4. Verify window is now working properly.

5. If this procedure does not work, a scan tool that can access the Passenger Door Module (PDM) and Drivers Door Module (DDM) will be needed.
--------
The auto up or down function will be engaged if the button is pulled to the second step. The first step is for manual operation. This procedure can be used for driver and passenger windows.
