I have a 1999 V70 XC with a bad ignition key switch.
So far, I have purchased a replacement....
I have some instructions for removing the Air Bag that talk about a 'spring-latch'.
But I can't find the spring...
I also see some reference that there are Torx T30 retaining screws, (on this forum),
so I'm wondering which is correct.
From what I can see, the alleged 'Torx bolts look 'round', and the diagram for the spring shows
what looks like a 'pop rivet' for a spring latch retainer.
Not sure if Volvo changed this design along the way, but I have tried probing for a spring with
a screwdriver, and the it's starting to damage the rubber cover of the steering wheel base.
Appreciate any help...
Once I can get the Air Bag and wheel removed, I feel confident that I can drill out the old assembly bolts and replace it.
Ps.: Yes, I disconnect the battery before messing with the Air bag removal...
Many thanks...

The air bag on that wheel has the tx 27 or 30 screws and they go in from straight behind. You have to turn wheel 90 degrees to left and get right one by inserting the LONG bit or use the screwdriver style with pliers on the handle for adequate torque to break them loose. The turn wheel 90 degrees past center to right and get left screw.
