Cam sensor on V70 Xc SE 2000

I cannot find its location. The engine is a2.4L.

you mean the camshaft position sensor? Take off the plastic engine cover. You will see it right there. It's very easy to change/remove. All you do is use a torx wrench to remove the 4 bolts. remove the wire going to it, and take it off. Oil may drip off, so have a towel handy to keep things clean. Putting the new one on is just as easy. You will need a new gasket seal and and gasket/high temp glue. The gasket is a dealer only part unless you decide to make one yourself. Attach the 4 bolts, attach the wire, and youre good to go.

that's the cvvt solenoid, not the camshaft position sensor.

the camshaft position sensor is bolted onto the engine near the firewall, the connector for it is underneath the intake manifold

(i've changed both the cvvt solenoid and the camshaft position sensor on my '00 XC)
