It's not advertising in the traditional sense, it's an experiment to see how much CPM (cost per thousand ad impressions) the Volvo forum market costs. It tells how much to ask for my spots. That CPM - 30% middleman fee = good guideline.

If you mean MVS reading MVS cookies when you're on volvoXC.com, no, that's not possible. It's a Google ad, and it's served by their servers, so MVS has no "presence" on that site to be able to read your MVS cookies.

(By the way, if anyone wants to know how cookies work here, just ask. It's very conventional, very low-tech, standard cookie reading and writing, only when you're here. Primarily they're used to remember you when you come back if you check the "Log me on automatically" checkbox when you log in.)

Doesn't the "impression" only happen if the ad is clicked? Exposure and impression are two different things, eh?

No, an impression is just an ad showing once. A page refresh by the same user would be another impression, for a total of two impressions.

A click is a click.
