850 wire going to ignition switch cut

So today I attempted to remove the upper and lower portions of my steering column cover in order to replace my turn signals/ cruise switch and could not get the last 2 screws out because they are sunk way in and impossible to see let alone access. So I attempted to cut a big enough hole over top of the screw hole with a drill and hole saw through the plastic and then cut away at the screw shaft to get my torx multi tool in there. I got frustrated after trying this for a while and got out my 1 ft hand saw and just started sawing the thing all the way around the cover. I eventually got it removed completely and was able to replace the switch successfully but unfortunately in the process I cut through the outer cover of what seems to be a relay of some kind right behind the wheel :roll: Apparently this is the ignition switch.(I know, I should have been more careful around there) I noticed that after I put the new turn signal/cruise switch on the wipers, power windows and sunroof didn't work. After taking off the cover to the ignition switch I could see one of the wires was frayed and another was completely cut. Not only that but the switch replacement didn't fix my broken cruise control. How should I go about fixing this? Thanks in advance

Bummer that you tore up the collar. The torx screws nearest the steering wheel are difficult but I use a bit holder, a 1/4" extension, and a 1/4" handle and they pop out just fine. I can't recall the exact size but they are somewhere in the T-15 to T-20 size head for the screws.

I don't recall a relay behind the column cover but if you can throw up a picture we can likely help figure out what the damage is.

That would be the electrical side of your ignition switch.
Call someone that can solder well and read wiring diagrams.

Thanks Lee and BEJ and thanks a TON MVS for the wiring diagrams!! I do know how to solder a little so I may give it a try and I hope I can identify the pins in the wiring diagram. Im assuming that I could at least get it started and drive it albeit without window/sunroof/wiper functions if I plugged in the starter pins. Battery wasn't disconnected..but I will do that now. :roll: Otherwise I do know someone who does know how to solder and might be able to come out this weekend for pizza and beer, really good beer that is. :)
