Crankshaft Pulley issue

Post by zero324 »

I just recently had to take over driving my wife's 01 V70 since I just got a job traveling a lot and my 92 240 just isn't up to par for heavy road use yet. Anyways today on my way back from a job site I started feeling a vibration from the front and I noticed earlier that something sounded different but it is in the high 90's here and just got thru driving 160 miles so I figured the a/c was just pulling really hard. Well when I started to feel the vibration I was going about 75-80mph and I do know that both of my hydraulic motor mounts need to be replaced and also that back rims are warped due to large potholes from over the winter but tire shop said they should be ok to drive on for a few months. Anyways when I felt that I pulled off at the next exit ramp and popped the hood and noticed that my crankshaft pulley had a very very small amount of movement to it but was not affecting the belts at all.

I was wondering if the crankshaft pulley will need to be replaced or if it's ok. Also if it's ok to drive it as it is for the next two weeks because I have to wait till I get paid to replace it along with engine mounts and rims.

You should replace it. Not sure if it will come apart but if it does, it will not be good. I have a spare one that I am doing nothing with. I will send it to you U$20 if you like. came off a 2002 s60. Glück.
