I'm thinking of upgrading the stereo in my Volvo 850R.
A while back, I hunted and collected the following stuff;
SC-901 Head Unit (works well, have code)
4x100w Amp from C70
Junkyard cables (din cable for Amp, harnesses to create a custom wiring harness)
iPod AND Aux input adapter that plugs into the CD Changer port on the back of the SC-901 (with manual!)
I've got this installed in my car and it all works really well. The iPod/Aux adapter is really neat because you have both an iPod Cable and an aux input that are driven by the 6-CD Changer button. Disc 1 gives you the Aux input and Disc 2 gives you the iPod input. The wiring harness that I made takes the speaker output from the Amp and feeds it through the dash and into the factory wiring harness to the speakers. I've got the Amp under the passenger seat and the cables are long enough for this. I don't know if they will extend to the trunk of a sedan, but the Amp fits very well under the seat without causing any legroom issues for any of my passengers.
As I have this, it should be a completely plug-and-play setup for all the vehicles in the "Volvo 850, S70, V70, C70 & V70-XC Forum (1992-2000)" with the exception of power and ground wires for the amp. These are cheap and easy enough to do, and I'll be replacing the amp and re-using the existing wiring.
I'd like to see $400 shipped for all of this because of the extras (iPod/Aux, custom harness), and that's not much more than sourcing the HU and Amp separately off eBay. Of course, ask questions and make offers. Thanks!
SC901, C70 4x100w Amp, iPod & Aux in and all wiring needed*

Never mind, I guess you don't have a center speaker in an 850

Interested in the harness, do you have a picture?
Edit: are you willing to sell a la carte? I might be interested in the SC-901 and iPod adapter too, but not the amp. I already have the same one. Thanks!

The harness is a simple affair to allow the car's wiring to pass straight through to the head unit. It consists of an aftermarket wiring harness like you'd buy to connect an aftermarket head unit to the factory wiring, a factory wiring plug pulled from a junkyard car and four lengths of two-conductor speaker wire. The aftermarket and factory harnesses are wired directly together except for the speaker connections which are connected to the lengths of speaker wires which go under the carpeting to the area under the front seat and are screwed onto the Amp's speaker terminals. It's kind of like a very tall T.
If you want everything but the amp, make an offer. I can always keep the amp and reuse it with another custom cable - I just thought the whole package together made a very simple install and kept everything "Volvo."
I'll be in the car tomorrow and I will take a picture of the head unit and I'll pull it out to try and get a shot of the harness.

The Radio - oh, heck yeah, it does RDS so you get station names, Artists, etc. on the display!
The car-side of the harness
The radio-side of the harness
The speaker connections
No pictures of the C70 Amp. It's a C70 Amp, 100Wx4. So, you know, it looks like one of those.

Finally, another person that appreciates quality wiring jobs... I guess I'm more prone to find that on a Volvo board than the doofs on the Subaru forums I'm used to. :p
I'm going to PM you an offer right now, I'd like to buy everything except the Amp.
