where is the A/C control unit

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

where is the A/C control unit

Post by toohot »

I have a 2001 S80. The AC (air conditioning) system stopped. The dealer says it shorted out the resistor which back feed power blowing out the climate control unit, blower motor and resistor pack. They wanted $2600 to fix it. I said no. They then said what about $1800. Hmmm Blower motors and resistor packs (for the motor speeds) are usually very tough. I don't doubt the electronic unit is fried. Can anyone tell me where this control unit may be found on the car?

Thanks

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

The power unit is mounted beneath the blower fan motor. I have seen them in much worse positions than on the S80. The attached shows how to do it.
